win min virus
Hi guys. I've got this win min virus and have no idea how to get rid of it. i read over some other previous threads about it to try and fix it but wasnt sure if i had to post my log or something like that (which i have no idea about). I seem to be getting the win min error msg wen closing down windows aswell as the your-searcher.com internet problem and also have troubles gettin into hotmail sometimes. One other thing is that everytime 5 minutes after windows starts up it closes watever program i'm using at the time and drops me to desktop.
any help is appreciated, thanks |

Please go into Windows Explorer, click on C:\ > File > New Folder and call it HJK, or another name of your choice. Go to this site and download Hijack This. Install the program into the folder you created then run it. Click Scan. Save the log file to Notepad, then copy and post it back here. Make sure to include the System information at the top of the log as well.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.
Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point. Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. Also make sure to customize the settings in Adaware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds. Download CWShredder and click on Fix (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you). If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Hopefully Adaware has removed some entries for you already. So if you see that something doesn't exist anymore, Adaware probably fixed/deleted it already. Just continue on with the other fixes/deletions. Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it): C:\WINDOWS\System32\lvhidsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\64hhs-64.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\rued.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\t?skmgr.exe C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\winlgn.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\system_41364.dat Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: webHancer Check and fix the following in HijackThis if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://your-searcher.com/sp.htm R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://your-searcher.com/index.htm R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://your-searcher.com/index.htm R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchURL = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://your-searcher.com/sp.htm R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://your-searcher.com/index.htm O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4DA5472D-B33C-5AC1-D258-11550CAE291F} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hpqdteh.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [webHancer Survey Companion] "C:\Program Files\webHancer\Programs\whSurvey.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows Update Checker] C:\WINDOWS\64hhs-64.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Cbmp] C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\rued.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bhgk] C:\WINDOWS\System32\t?skmgr.exe O4 - Global Startup: winlgn.exe O15 - Trusted Zone: *.05p.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.blazefind.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.clickspring.net O15 - Trusted Zone: *.flingstone.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.mt-download.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.my-internet.info O15 - Trusted Zone: *.scoobidoo.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.searchbarcash.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.searchmiracle.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.slotch.com O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://public.windupdates.com/get_f...8a29296baabe1d6 O16 - DPF: {9EB320CE-BE1D-4304-A081-4B4665414BEF} (MediaTicketsInstaller Control) - http://www.mt-download.com/MediaTicketsInstaller.cab Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist: C:\WINDOWS\System32\lvhidsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\64hhs-64.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\rued.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\t?skmgr.exe C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\winlgn.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\system_41364.dat C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\hpqdteh.dll C:\Program Files\webHancer\ Reboot into Normal Mode and post a new HijackThis log file so we can make sure it's clean.
