Problems with IE
Recently I was working on a client's website when I was informed by the client that their FTP access had been hacked and their site was now giving people viruses. I looked at the source code and found a reference to an external location in an IFRAME.
I thought I was ok because my virus scanners caught nothing, but now I get 'This application has failed to start because msvcrl.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem.' when I try to start IE...and my internet connection is running nasty slow. Here's my HijackThis log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA) Scan saved at 08:52, on 05/18/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\cisco systems\VPN Client\cvpnd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent\ntrtscan.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlwriter.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent\tmlisten.exe C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\LAAC92.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent\pccntmon.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe C:\Program Files\AIM6\aim6.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\AIM6\aolsoftware.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE C:\Program Files\Screen Calipers 4.0\Calipers.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\ssmsee.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Help 8\dexplore.exe C:\Program Files\cisco systems\VPN Client\vpngui.exe C:\Program Files\cisco systems\VPN Client\ipseclog.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE C:\Program Files\UltraMon\UltraMon.exe C:\Program Files\UltraMon\UltraMonTaskbar.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstsc.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\YahooMessenger.exe C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\WebDev.WebServer.EXE C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\ClamWin.exe C:\Documents and Settings\ben.whitesell\Desktop\HiJackThis_v2.exe C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\clamscan.exe R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.oaktreesoftware.com/training.htm O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11\bin\ssv.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IgfxTray] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Synchronization Manager] %SystemRoot%\system32\mobsync.exe /logon O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Photo Downloader] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Album Starter Edition\3.0\Apps\apdproxy.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [googletalk] "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe" /autostart O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11\bin\jusched.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UltraMon] "C:\Program Files\UltraMon\UltraMon.exe" /auto O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ATIPTA] "C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OfficeScanNT Monitor] "C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent\pccntmon.exe" -HideWindow O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ClamWin] "C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\ClamTray.exe" --logon O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Defender] "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe" -hide O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo!
