My log

Problem: Every time I do a virus scan, it always picks up 3 or 4 viruses. And, about evert 5 minutes, I get two windows saying "Threat Detected! Ignore; Info; Heal; Move to Virus Vault" from my virus scanner, but it always appears to be the same virus that is being detected. Last night when I went to bed, I awoke 7 hours later and had exactly 19 pop-ups on the screen, but I went to bed with NOTHING on the screen. And whenever I try to go to sites, it sometimes redirects me to this "Download our free scanner now" site... I tried to access my forum three times before I was finally able to get away from that page. About 25% of those pop-ups are ads for virus scanners, 25% are ads for dating sites, 25% are ads for "You win!!" sites, and the othr 25% are misc. And my internet has slowed down so much that I can rarely upload stuff to Imageshack or access my site via FTP. And it's for that reason that I will post a screenshot of my lengthy virus vault later...

Hello Sanehouse, and welcome to TSF.

I am currently reviewing your log. Please note that this is under the supervision of an expert analyst,
and I will be back with a fix for your problem as soon as possible.

You may wish to Subscribe to this thread (Thread Tools) so that you are notified when you receive a reply.

Please be patient with me during this time.

Please do not click on any of the pop-ups or ads for scanner service. These ads are almost always rogue programs which tend to place some form of malware on your computer.

Please read this post completely before begining the fix. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding.
Please ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this
webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T MISS A STEP & PERFORM EVERYTHING IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

----------------------------------------

The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine.

Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
If any other issues arise let me know.

The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear.
Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear. So lets do this to the end!

Please make every effort to reply to my posts in a timely manner. Malware breeds malware and the longer an infection remains on a system, the more
likely additional infections will result.

----------------------------------------

Your system is badly infected. This will probably take multiple passes to clean. Please stay with me.

----------------------------------------

MULTIPLE ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAMS

You are currently running multiple Anti Virus programs.

Unlike firewalls, anti-virus programs have conflicts co-existing with each other
This can cause conflicts and confusion between the AV programs as well as system instability.
Please choose and run only 1 and uninstall the other.

ALL the antivirus programs must be removed via Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove program.

For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:
Re-install the program -> Reboot -> Uninstall

The Anti-Virus Programs on your system are:

Norton
AVG

Note: Norton must be uninstalled using the Norton Removal Tool

----------------------------------------

P2P - I see you have P2P software installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept.
However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more
susceptible to re-infections. It may be contributing to your current situation. This page will give you further information.

These programs are:

uTorrent
Ares
