Slow startup

I am using an IBM laptop and when the system starts up both the windows and IBM tools for wireless and battery both launch. Do I need both of them or can I disable one? Also Microsoft activesync launches every time I start up and gives me a series of warnings that my pocket PC is not plugged in. Any suggestions on how to speed up start up?

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (if they still exist) (make sure you do not miss any)

That will stop the Battery Log start up and the activesync start up. All the above are not required and can be accessed manually via Start > Programs.
