File becomes invisible, new virus?
In safe mode vptray.exe is visible and Word comes up.
In standard mode vptray.exe disappears even to ATTRIB in the command prompt; only copy detects that it is there. About 3 seconds after the Word window comes up, the "Word has detected a problem and must shut down" dialog appears. I ran the online Bit Defender virus check and it found nothing. Symantec also found nothing. The latest Virus Definition File is dated 4/12 and this problem hit 4/13. Last night I removed Office, defragmented the drive, and reloaded Office; did not help. |
