Freezing on startup

hey folks

Was wondering if someone could give me a bit of advice.

My uncles computer keeps freezing on startup. it seems to be going for the first minute or so but then freezes (possibly when the computer is opened up completely)

This obviously means he cant do virus scans, or a HJT scan to post up here.

anyone with any idea what this could be? and how we would go about fixing it?

Have you tried to boot into safe mode? You may be able to get some scans don't from their.
