AVG Free Edition is pretty good. I use it at home and it is great! (And Free!)

Let me recommend you alternatives

Free ***
AVG antivirus
Zone Alarm basic firewall
Ewido ( i would buy it after the trial period )
WinPatrol

Economy ****
Kaspersky antivirus
Zone Alarm basic firewall
Ewido
Winpatrol

Investment *****
Kaspersky Security Suit
Winpatrol
Counterspy

NOT TO BUY :

Norton
McAfee

Uninstall your norton as soon as possible. Do not have it in your system after its expiration. I am very paranoid about expired norton antivirus. Something amazingly happens to them. ! major infections.... If you are going to buy a software install a free instance untill you buy your software but remove norton.

Hi There,

When it comes to downloading software, of course you can go to the product's site, but I usually go to www.download.com first. Its one of the safest sites on the Internet.

I use Avast! Home Edition 4.6 (Antivirus) Its free, free is good and free is better when it works great which this does! You also have the ability to download separately, their Avast Virus Cleaner Tool 1.0.176.

I've learned a lot from the great people here on this particular site. I just recently learned a very important lesson, don't consider ever letting one program do it all--layer your protection. I saw where you have a firewall. Have you thought about adding spyware program(s) as well?

Just ask anything and I guarantee you, you'll get the right answers everytime and quickly too!

Take care, hope this helps you.
