avg will not update

I have a problem with my free AVG antivirus. Everytime I click the update button, the download box opens up, but you see "receive answer", "closing connection". This goes back and forth for about ten secs. and the dialogue box disappears. There is a priority and a recommended update still not downloaded.

I have Win 2000 pro with SP4. I am running Zone Alarm as my firewall.

I even tried downloading the priority updated manually. Nothing happening.

If you are real behind on avg updates that will happen. You need to go
to avg website, download updates, put them in a temp folder. There will
probably be more then one update. You need to get them all. You need
to reset how you recieve update. Its probably set to internet, you need
to select folder. Then point the update to that folder, install all updates.
Then you should be able to get updates from internet like before.
Or it could be that avgs server is busy. Good luck.

It that fails try reinstalling the program. Also verify and update your computer's time and date, AVG uses this info to determine if you have the correct files.
