Does anyone use SafeXP?
Is this a program that should be used?

NO and NO....lol

I don't see a need for this if you know anything about windows in the first place. That said...it may be fine for some people to use...but I would not recommend it in the clean speechs for a user to download and use. For your personal use....have at it!

I didnt think it would be a 'safe' program after some research. It is installed on a customers pc, the son is schooling for computer forensics and has all kinds of funky porgrams installed on the system. Funky meaning programs I never heard of.

I see Tammy. When I run into these "Unknown" programs..I useally do a quick search using both the programs name and filename with added key words like.. "Spyware", "Adware", "Reviews"...etc and see if anything turns up. Even if it doesn't...I'll remove any 3rd party "Supposedly" Antispyware tool in favor of the user installing some of the well known ones.

For the tools (Like SafeXP) I'll advise the user of what my search turned up..but leave it to them to remove/keep in the end. Hope that helps abit. :O)

Well after reading up on SafeXP, I took it upon my self to remove it. Its one of those programs that is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs nor the Start menu. I used the option to restore settings back to when it was first installed. All seems well.
Basically I was concerned As to what the individual had selected in that program. They had Automatic updates turned off, along with some other features that I strongly suggest to keep active. I will explain this to them and suggest they do not use this program as I believe it will conflict with the normal operation of Windows.

Quickly searching in the manner you described most of those did not get flagged as being rogue programs, only 1, SpyRemover 2.52 came up in SpywareWarriors list.
The SecurePointPersonal Firewall I uninstalled also because ZA was installed too. I think they were trying to rid of the trojan they had by installing as many programs as they could round up.
