Need help with HTTP header problem
My college uses SurfControl. This is normally not a problem because I can use proxy sites to surf...but when I want to download anything, proxies are too slow and any download manager I've used (a lot) always hangs with messages similar to "waiting for http header" and the like, which makes me suspect good ol' SurfControl is messing with the HTTP header infos
Anybody know a way to resolve this? Is there a program that, oh I dunno, lets you input the header manually or something? Apologies for any ignorance I've displayed here and thanks in advance for any help

there are firefox plugins for http headers, or you can try to use putty. It allows you to set the header, useragent, and http version that is emulated from your machine. I've done it before for a hacking challenge but that was all too long ago, and i doubt i could do it again.
