Looking for anti-virus that does not have to be installed.

Looking for anti-virus that does not have to be installed.

Like something I could run off a cd but does not need to be installed.
Why you ask because I would like to run more then 1 anti-virus program but I know the various programs do not play well together.

This is why I would like a non installed one.
Also I am on dailup and using the online versions take for ever to run.

I am currently using Avast as my main anti-virus program, I am very pleased with it and have no desire to change.

Since I asking would you know of programs like Ad-Ware and Spybot, might also run off a cd?

My System

Hi

I'm not aware of any (but that doesn't mean there aren't any ). As you yourself point out - too many possible conflicts. Best to find one that offers good protection without sucking up system resources - AVG and AVAST are among the best.

No AV will catch every possible virus. You need a combination of protection programmes to give you good security.

I recommend these programmes - and they are all free:

SpywareGuard
Ad-Aware
SpywareBlaster
Spybot S & D
IE-SPYAD
WinPatrol
HOSTS File
ZoneAlarm
SnoopFree

HTH.
