Not sure if I have VX2 or not...
I recently ran a scan of my puter with PestPatrol and it told me I have trojan called VX2 in C:\Windows\Help\nocontnt.GID however when I run Adaware it doesn't see it nor does the VX2 Cleaner plug-in, and Spybot didn't either.
As suggested in the sticky notes I ran pandasoftware's and symantec's online scanner they didn't flag it either. 2 questions: 1.When i click on the plug-in 'button' inside of AdAware the VX2 program's icon has a little red 'X' on it. Is that standard or do I need to be concerned? 2.How reliable is pestpatrol? TIA weeler |

Hi and welcome to TSF.
My Ad-Aware has the same red x and works OK so I wouldn't worry there. I'm not familiar with PestPatrol but I can say that each programme will not catch everything - you need a good combination. In the meantime, I suggest you follow Microbell’s 5 step process here and then post your log in the HijackThis Forum. Regards
