Spyware Strike Trouble
Just yesterday i recieved a message in the taskbar saying that i had a serious infection on my pc. I clicked on it and it brought me to Spyware Strike site. I am certain that i didnt download the program from there but anyhow it is still here. I have run Ad-Aware SE, AVG, and CCleaner many times with no luck. My computer hasnt really slowed down that much, but i have noticed lots more programs running in the task manager. Everyonce in a while i get a popup but usually only when i first open up Firefox. Any advice or help you have would be awesome. If nothing works, would reinstalling windows get rid of it?

This is a tough one to remove. I recommend you follow Microbell's 5 step process here
You can skip the steps you've already done, (like running Ad-Aware). Then post your log in the HijackThis Forum for the analysts to guide you.

ishmay77 -
This infection is not really all that hard to remove. It takes some time, and a couple of specialised tools. Post a HJT log in our HJT forum, and we can get you fixed up.

Thanks
I am going to try it, i was just interested in whether or not reinstalling xp would truly get rid of it. I had read elsewhere that sometimes things like this
can get imbeded into your motherboard and stuff so i was a little worried. Thanks again for your help! |
