NAV doesn't run in safe mode...
Got the Trojan.ByteVerify virus as detected by NAV 2003 scan, which detected it but apparently failed to delete it properly. Per the instructions on the Symantec site, I disabled system restore, booted up in Safe mode and tried to run the Norton full system scan. it wouldn't run, I checked the application event log and found an event generated by the failed scan: "xtreamlok xinstall event 103, description not found, license manager is not running" was the gist of it. Tried all sorts of things, couldn't get the scan to run. I eventually rebooted normally an re-ran the full scan with nothing else running, and this time it found & deleted the offending virus. Still a little concerned that I can't run the scan in safe mode though.
Any ideas anyone? TIA... |
