Since installing a Netgear Wireless router I have experienced an occasional "ringing" sound through the speakers of my desktop computer that is hardwire connected through the router to the cable modem. The sound is almost muted and similar to a call waiting alert signal but none of the programs loaded on the computer have call waiting capabilities. Both the desktop and wifi laptop operate properly and virus and spyware scans indicate no intrusion. Being a neophyte with wireless connections could the router be picking up random cell phone signals? If I understand correctly, anyone trying to "sniff" a wifi connection would basically have to be parked in my driveway. The sound occurs only occasionally and only for a few rings. Am I concerned over nothing??
