When I run my Trojan Remover software these come up!!!!

C:\WINDOWS\System32\hidserv.dll

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidServ\"ServiceDll"

C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS\wanatw4.sys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wanatw\"ImageP
ath"

Are these harmful to my computer or should I leave them? I don't like to delete if I am not sure what it is.

Hi

C:\WINDOWS\System32\hidserv.dll - legit - MS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\HidServ\"ServiceDll" - as above

C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS\wanatw4.sys - WAN Miniport service from AOL.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\wanatw\"ImageP

Hi

I was just pointing out that they were legitimate system/programme files. There are many files and processes within Windows that are really not necessary for the smooth running of your PC. The link I posted is just one of many that details some processes and files that you can, if you want to remove.

At the end of the day, the decision is up to you.

Well, do you use AOL? Do you need a WAN Miniport Driver? I have the HID service disabled on my own system but I have not deleted the files. Personally I would just disable those services and leave it at that.
