Trojan Virus Help - Trojan.Alemod
I picked up some stupid Trojan Virus. The Trojan.Alemod.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...an.alemod.html For you network admin guru's: 1. I disabled system restore. 2. boot my computer into safe mode. 3. ran norton and tried to use the fix and repair utilities. But all of that is unable to get rid of this trojan. My question is, should I manually just delete this file? Since I picked up this trojan my internet is slow as ****, I get lots of popups when I'm online, and my homepage is blank everytime I load up the internet eventhough I go and keep resetting it to yahoo. Thanks. |

Hey,
If you want to manually get rid of it. Try going to you regedit and find the file you wish to delete.. Be careful though; if you delete something by mistake you wont get your file back that you deleted. Following that if you deleted something inportant your computer might have some glitches with your computer.. Just be careful on what you delete. ( Best of Luck ) |

This is one of the classic desktop hijackers, part of the smitfraud family. Follow POADB's instructions, including posting a HijackThis log in the HJT forum, as this is best attacked with specialised tools and procedures. We'll get you fixed up in no time.
