Offline installation for virus definitions?

Hey,
I was just wondering is it possible to install virus definitons for norton antivirus offline? My computer is not connected to the internet and i receive a lot of programs from freinds that they have downloaded. I also download a lot of things on other computers and load them onto mine. I am running Norton Systemworks 2006 and Windows Xp sp2. I just think i would be a lot more convenient if i could kill viruses and stuff on my computer, rather than having to take it somewhere else and scan it. Ive just spent a fair bit of money on system works and am very annoyed that i cant find any offline installers.
If anyone knows anything on this subject please let me know.

you are not connected to the web now, or you mean ever with this computer?

go to the Symantec Security download site to get them

you have to be online to install the updates and besides its the virus definitions im worried about.
