Spybot and Ad-Aware don't work

Ad-Aware just freezes after it's been searching for awhile, and Spybot immediately give me a mysterious message that I have "no immediate threats." So it appears they cannot get rid of whatever it is I have. And Internet Explorer is deluded with ads, of course.

I have found that sometime the program works better when logged in as the administrator. You can log on to the admin account and run a "full" system scan. Or log on to the "user" and when you see the shortcut right click and select run as. You will need to enter the admin username and password for your machine. I hope this helps.
