spyware program cleaning a file that is not there

I am running a spyware remover program and while its running is shows a certain file location c:\docs and settings\administrator\complete...however when i go find that file there is no such file.the folder complete is not there. I have set file settings to show all hidden files and run a search on the folder but it shows that no such folder exists. so how can my spyware program see it.

What program did you run?

One program is not going to pick up everything, you need to use multiple programs.

Get and install
AdAware SE

Spybot Search & Destroy
After installing those 2 make sure to check for updates.

Ewido Security Suite
Install ewido security suite. When installing the program, under "Additonal Options" uncheck..
*Install background guard
*Install scan via context menu
Launch Ewido, there should now be an icon on your desktop, double-click it. The program will now open to the main screen. You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files: On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful") If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido:
Ewido manual updates

Also I would use an online scanner too:
Panda Active Scan

If all that doesn't work on the problem then you should read the Highjack This forum and follow carefully on how to download and run it.

go to the control panel > to folder options > to the view tab and put a check in the show hidden files and folders line

by default Windows keeps some files and folders hidden, so while looking they will not appear to be there

thanks again mlegg, however i already had that option working. i went into my cmd.exe and looked for the files that way and i found that folder. so it is there but just not showing normally..under windows. I am going to see if i can copy the folder into a new folder that i created on my desktop. Any more suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
