Control Panel glitch
..Cant bring up "Add or Remove Programs"
running a virus scan right now Spybot and Adaware found nothing ..is there an alternative method for opening 'add and remove programs' panel? Last edited by unstresst; 03-18-2005 at 07:41 AM. Reason: corrections |

Did the virus scan find anything? Usually in these cases where you can't open a panel, it's probably a virus working in the background. So see if it found anything and remove it if it does.

RE: control panel
it was a virus.....AVG didn't catch it when it came on board like usual..but after a full scan it was fixed...had a dose of Java.ByteVerify!exploit and something about a trojan irc back door

OK, for that Java.Byte one, do this:
# Click on the Start menu # Select Settings # Select Control Panels # Select Java Plug-in # Click on the Cache tab # Click on the Clear button # Click OK to confirm That should clear it. Anything else now?
