Bootable USB drive encryption quandary...
I presently have a nice bootable USB toolkit, including tools such as Hiren's BootCD, MiniXP, and a bunch of other portable apps, which is nice for utility when doing repairs on various computer systems.
What I'm wanting to do now, is add a bunch more functionality in the form of: Bootable Linux distribution(s) (such as backtrack, etc) Portable applications with an emphasis on productivity and managing personal data Full encryption for access, across the board. Basically, I'm wondering if there's a way to build a multi-boot system on my flash drive, with multiple partitions, all loaded using the truecrypt boot loader, excepting one unencrypted partition for a portable truecrypt to access the data on the drive when plugged into a running system. What I'm not really sure on, is how the boot loader works, or if there's a known way to integrate it with the HBCD and Linux loaders. I'm envisioning something like this: {TrueCrypt_Loader[HBCD|MiniXP|BackTrack][TrueCrypt_Portable][Apps&Data(encrypted)]} Any idea how this might work, or if it's even doable? If not, what's the closest thing I can hope for? Last edited by TK9K1; 10-30-2009 at 07:58 PM. Reason: clarity |
