I was recently infected with Virut and had to reformat and everything. Anyways, I'm clean now. So, after downloading all the necessary drivers and such, the first thing I did was download Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus (probably version 9, I got it off the website)
I just want to be clear on something because this stuff confuses me. This is anti-virus protection only, even though it actively protects me against malware and such, correct? I still need a firewall, right? Combined with this and a firewall, I should be pretty well protected as long as I don't download stupid crap, right? I was thinking about ZoneAlarm PRO Firewall 2010. My issue is I suck at computers and I have tried firewalls before but they always blocked stuff I didn't want them to and couldn't figure out how to stop that so I just shut it off all the time. Are there any "Firewall for Morons" programs? Thanks much! I REFUSE to get Virut again. I lost EVERYTHING!

Re: Simple questions
I am currently using Trend Micro Internet Security and it works well for me. It keeps me from getting "unwanted" things when I'm surfing the internet. Since then, my laptop is clean and TMIS is not slowing down the performance. If it helps, Trend Micro coupons is actually giving 10% off on the TMIS 2010. You can check it out, maybe it will work out for you too.

Re: Simple questions
I'm using Comodo (free). It's currently using 0% CPU and 2mb RAM with peak RAM usage 18mb. Very light on resources, easy to setup and use, and gets excellent reviews.
