Cookie:username@atdmt.com/ Tracking cookie?

Ok, I have a (nearly)bullet proof vest of pc security going on (I hope), I have Avast! 4.8 Home Edition (waiting for 5!), Winpatrol, Comodo Firewall, IObit 360 pro, Spywareblaster, McAfee SiteAdviser. I Browse with FireFox 3.5.3, AdBlock Plus, I don't go to weird or red-listed sites, I don't use torrents, etc...

I Almost ALWAYS have this username@atdmt .com/ Tracking Cookie that IOBit keeps finding with its smart scan. I myself don't think the cookie is all that malicious, I just want to be sure. It is in my Internet Explorer cookies when it is found, along with a few others from some Microsoft sites. I suspect it's coming from my Windows Live Messenger 09 (14.8 blah blah blah), BECAUSE, when I went to load my Hotmail via the email icon in WLM, down at the bottom left of FireFox, it said transferring data from atdmt.com, etc... I blocked the cookie in FireFox, I blocked it in IE, I even added a few URLS that are supposed to transmit the cookie. But, it still comes back.

Is it safe, and if not, is there a way to prevent the lil bugger from coming back?

Re: Cookie:username@atdmt.com/ Tracking cookie?

Cookies are governed by your privacy settings in IE. Block *.atdmt.com in your privacy settings. That should stop it from dropping a cookie.

As to the cookie being malicious, it is not. Almost all cookies get flagged because they may contain personal information in them.

ATDMT.COM is a Microsoft site.

Thanks!

Re: Cookie:username@atdmt.com/ Tracking cookie?

Thank you. I had tried to block it before, but it didn't work. I copied and pasted the wildcarded address you gave and blocked it, I'll see if that works. I don't really mind as long as it isn't sending information about anything to a third party in a malicious way.

Re: Cookie:username@atdmt.com/ Tracking cookie?

You can also add the wildcard site to your RESTRICTED SITES in IE. This will pretty well stop that specific domain and all of its subdomains from running any types of scripts, cookies, and so forth.

Thanks!
