Someone messing around with my computer and I don't know how
Computer newbie here.
I was working when I noticed that my Recycle Bin contained files I wouldn't have deleted from my computer - the whole folder was there, though some of the files that were originally in it were outside. I looked around and so far I haven't found anything amiss aside from that, though that's not saying much, since I'm far from halfway done and I have a lot of files. I'm positive nobody else living with me knows my password (and even if they did, I don't see why any of them would mess around with my computer). And I was the last one to use the computer anyway (turned it off for the night, then went back in the morning), to my knowledge. No red alerts from the last time I used the computer. Am in the middle of a virus scan (just in case) and so far nothing's been found. Any idea what happened? Using XP, have Avast Home Edition (also using the providers) and Spyware Doctor (free). |
