Automatic sending and receiving lots of bytes

HI,
I m facing a problem of bytes being sent and received automatically, ie. I m not downloading anything, nor my updates related to any programs( antivirus, automatic updates) are being done, still my internet limits are geting wasted.
This may be a trojan But my antivirus is not detecting it.

So my question is ,
Is there any method using which i can check or simply get rid of this problem(delete the trojan (if any))?

Hi,

You are absolutely correct your system is infected with virus/trojan.

You first download any current version of free NOD32 or kasperky type antivirus software install them boot the system in safe mode and scan the entire system all the partitions etc, with the software once it detects and remove the infected files then you can buy that version of software , but do not download unwanted trojans from the internet, go for known brands of antivirus software.

certainly follow BG's suggestion to rule out virus infection.

i use zonealarm to control which (and how) programs can access the interenet, and in particular i block the GENERIC HOST PROCESS completely from access and server.

Please make sure that you don't end up running two anti virus programs at the same time, the will cause conflicts and possible create more problems for you.
