Virus
Rrecently i copied some files from a CD Rom , with these files two more files folder.htt and desktop.ini also got copied, and keep on multiplying, i try to delete these files manually and later on i tried some anti virus but still these files emerge again and again and keep on multiplying, kindly suggest some solution

ok.. first may i suggest double posting is not needed. we will see the post and respond accordingly.
second the issue here is not a virus. as far as i know with win98 and win95 they use the folder.htt file. all winOSs use the desktop.ini. these are nothing to be scared of. they are files usually small insize and mostlikely won't even max out 5kb or so. the folder.htt is just a HTML file containing the HTML frames and code for your folders. as you may know the folders when they open up in IE they are actually webpages only on your own computer. maybe not webpages but they can be considered as such to an extend. the desktop.ini file keeps your folder settings in line. there is no virus here. no need to worry. i will inform the mod to delete the other post. thanks for posting |
