Delete Deleted Files - eraser HELP plz

Hey i found out that after you delete and empty the bin the files you 'deleted' are still on your 'C:' i was worried about sercurrity and found a program called 'Eraser' Made by Heidi --- HERE

And i have already deleted/emptied many files i don't want anyone to be able to access again (and for general knowledge XD). How do i well delete the already deleted files? I think it's called overwriting or somthing and can use different methods such as the 'gunman'. Does overwriting it take up heaps of space from my hard drive?

In other words:
1. How do i delete, the already deleted (emptied files from bin) files?
(preferably using eraser)
2. Does it use up more HDD space?

btw i Use Windows XP Service Pack 3

Thanks ALL!

Re: Delete Deleted Files - eraser HELP plz

I don't know Eraser, but I use File Shredder (freeware), which does the same thing. It permanently deletes files by writing over them multiple times so they can't be recovered. This is known as file shredding.

The program also has an option that allows you to write random data over previously deleted files that were not shredded. This means that any empty space on your hard drive that used to contain files is wiped clean, making all deleted data unrecoverable. It's safe to use and won't accidentally delete any of your existing files.

Overwriting doesn't use any extra hard drive space. It just makes the data that used to be there unreadable by data recovery software.

Re: Delete Deleted Files - eraser HELP plz

I've been tested many cleaner programs but now I'm with Ccleaner and Mil Shield - the best cleaners, in my opinion. They will clean the already deleted files from the Recycle Bin and will free more hard disk space.
