Kaspersky Internet Security and IE not working.

My Kaspersky and Internet Explorer 8 are not working properly. Kaspersky keeps closing on it's own (it's a trial version) and IE8 either doesn't open at all or just opens a blank page and stops responding. Please help me. This is my HJT log...

Re: Kaspersky Internet Security and IE not working.

Upgrade to 2010, it's free:

http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/k...t_versions.php

next time, don't post a hijack log. Otherwise, someone who's not qualified will get slapped in the face with a reprimand if they comment on the log.

Re: Kaspersky Internet Security and IE not working.

Instead of using a trial version of Kaspersky, why not use one of the many free AV sofware there is out there.

Look at this : http://www.pcworld.com/product/testr...&prodid=290845

Re: Kaspersky Internet Security and IE not working.

@crewracer7 -

It would appear the machine has at least remnants of an infection. As mentioned at the top of this forum, no logs should be posted here, nor is malware removal assistance proffered in this section of the forum.

I would try to address the possibility of infection before changing your AV.

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

After running through all the steps, please post the requested logs in the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum, not here.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.
