McAfee literally disapeared
Hi,
My parents came to me with a problem today and said that our anti-virus software, McAfee, was not working. When I took a look I noticed that it was completely gone. It was not running when I checked my system processes like it normal would. The icon on the toolbar also vanished. On top of that when I finally found I shortcut to McAfee security center after searching all of my hard drive, it was a dead shortcut. I know they did not remove the software, so somehow it either removed itself or something removed it for us. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Matt |

Re: McAfee literally disapeared
Mcafee can be a target to Viruses that disable and can possibly uninstall the software, I recommend Imminently that you try any of these online scanners:
http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm I also highly recommend you do not use mcafee, i have found the software to be very disloyal and bad, I would try out Avast! free edition and if you require a firewall software try Comodo Free or Zone Alarm ===== Links ===== http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en...m-firewall.htm ========= If this does not solve your problem and you require further assistance post back. |
