Virus wont go away!!

Okay so Im pretty sure I downloaded a virus off of frostwire. I downloaded Avast to try and get it off but I don’t think its fully removed. First, my security center wont and cant be turned on. So I went into windows services and it said that it was disabled. So I turned in on to automatic and eventually it just does it all over again. Also, I can only use the internet in safe mode and every time I use a search engine like ask.com or google.com the results page wont show up. I don’t know if this has anything to do with a virus or not but it didn’t start until I got the virus. Also ive been trying to install a game from a disc and when I put it in it shows up in the drive but when I try to install it nothing happens. HELP PLEASE!!!

Re: Virus wont go away!!

If you think your computer might be infected, please follow these instructions and start a new thread in the Virus/Trojans/Spyware forum where an analyst will help you as soon as possible.

Re: Virus wont go away!!

Just do the steps that you are able to and just explain in your post any problems you ran into (like not being able to run gmer).

Re: Virus wont go away!!

I recommend that you read this article…
"NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help"; follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information; as instructed, in the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help section of the forum.
(Simply, click on the coloured links to be re-directed.)

Please ensure that you create a new thread in the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help Forum; not back here in this one.

When carrying out The Malware Removal Steps, if you cannot complete any of them for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed.
However,it is extremely important to make mention of the fact that you could not complete any of the steps in your post to the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help Forum; where an Analyst will assist you with other workarounds.

Once done, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.
