Encrypting My HD
I have a laptop that I use for business. It has all of my financial information on it as well as that of my clients.
I'm pretty security conscience and have a slew of security software installed to protect this information from online threats. However, I've been thinking lately about the fact that, while I pretty much have online threats neutralized, if someone with nefarious intentions were to somehow procure the laptop, I may be in serious trouble. I've been doing some research on this and I came to the conclusion that I may want to encrypt my entire C Drive. One program that stood out was TrueCrypt. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this program and whether it would be worth my while to use it. I already have the laptop password protected, and maybe encrypting the entire C Drive is overkill. But, it sure would make me feel better and a lot more secure. Thanks for your time. |

Re: Encrypting My HD
Ok. I know that my first question hasn't been answered yet but I do have another.
When I try to use TrueCrypt to encrypt my hard drive, it tells me that I need Vista SP1 or higher on my system and that I do not have it on my system. I do have Vista SP1 though???? Anyone? |
