Denial Of Service Attacks
Hi there.
Recently, my Windows 2003 virtual private server has been under DoS attacks on port 30000. The program that is providing a server on this port automatically logs DoS attacks, but doesn't block them or add them to a firewall. I'm usually there to block the attacks as they happen, but recently they have started happening when me and the other server manager are not available. They usually happen around 5 to 6 AM in the middle of the night. When I ran the server on my own PC at home, Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 automatically blocked the DoS attacks. KIS 2010 doesn't work on Windows Server 2003, plus I can't even afford it anyway. Is there any (free) way to automatically block these DoS attacks as they happen? Thanks.
