Whats the best Security Software

Hello all, I have just recently reinstalled Windows XP Professional, and I've decided that seeing how Bitdefender Total Security was unable to protect my computer, I would like to ask everyone for there opinions on which Security Software I should buy.

Any Tech Support Officials giving opinions is much appreciated, because I would prefer to have a experts opinion

It is expected that opinions may vary, but post anyway
Thanks

Re: Whats the best Security Software

ESET Nod32 Antivirus

If you are going for overkill and are super paranoid, then get ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall, as well.

Personally I don't use an AV and FW anymore because I monitor my system like a hawk, and if something is abnormal then I run ARK (AntiRootKit) tools, to remove any software that I cannot manually delete (because of hooks) when the system is booted.
Although I don't recommend that for a novice user.

Re: Whats the best Security Software

Hello

There is no best security software as such, they all have their strengths and weakness, the end user is the biggest factor in securing your PC.

Thank you I will keep it in mind that no security software is perfect, but it still bugs that, what if I've made a bad decision on Anti VIrus

Re: Whats the best Security Software

It depends on what you mean by bad, check out AV Compatives test results(in PDF file) if detection is what you are worried about.
