trend micro problem
trend micro stated that my computer had not been scanned for several days so i started a scan - at the end of the 2 1/2 hr scan it indicated that i had 14 out of 17 unresolved threats - however at that point the computer froze up and could not get out of it even with cntl alt dlt -forced to turn it of with the computer button ----- on start up the computer told my (presumably thru' microsoft) that onme of the disks needed to be checked for consistency - it proceeded to do this with entries stating ---- CHKDSK is verifying files --- deleting index entry chandir.idx in index $130 of file 90370 ---- recovering orphaned file chandir.idx --------- i think the computer is back to working - I opened up the trend micro program and it still told me that it had not been scanned for a month ---- whats going on --- love to hear from someone what the problem is --- i had the freeze up problem once before after a trend micro scan but the computer restarted without all the other problems that i listed - the trend micro is a legitenate copy and does not expire till november -i also occasionally run the malwarebytes program - I am using xp --- and i am not very computer savvy ----- thanks in advance --- peter
