Are There Files Antivirus Software Can't Scan?
I've always just assumed that when you did a full system scan it scanned 100% of everything. But recently I started using the free version of Avast, and when I did a boot time scan it reported there are certain archive files it can't scan because they are "corrupted." Avast's tech support says they are probably not corrupt but that the Avast software simply cannot unpack them and it assumes they are corrupted. Avast seems like a good product in most respects and this has me wondering. Is this normal for antivirus software?
