online scam ? or real ...help me out plzzzz
sold something online (not ebay), the buyer already sent out the money
but PayPal sent me an email that they wont release the money unless i send them a transaction number for the postage. does it sound legitimate or could this email be fake etc scam...? |

Whenever you have doubts about an email received, it's best to contact the party directly and express those concerns rather than simply reply to such requests without knowing. I encountered that too when I did an ebay transaction, so its probable that it isn't a scam. However, like tetonbob said, it would be best to contact Paypal directly. Best Regards :D |

i forwarded the email to spoofy AT paypal.....or whatever its called

Paypal's spoof checker is pretty handy. Also, if it's legit it will have your actual name not "Dear Paypal customer." I got one the other day that looked like a legit Paypal email but it was spelled "Paypale."
