Help for a job?

Hey all, i'm not sure if this is the best category to post this in, but i may be going for a part time job in IT, its mainly things such as computer cleanups as far as i know, i havent fiddled about with computers for a couple of years really. I just want to know if you can help me out with Spyware/Adaware/Virus removal, and generally doing best to cleanup PC's and restore original speed.
This is what i'd generally do to clean out and protect against spyware, if you could critique me on my process id be very happy!

Firstly i'd download and install Adaware, Spybot S&D, AVG antivirus and a Firewall possibly. Run all updates and download latest definitions, do the same with windows update, internet explorer and all the rest.
Reboot into safe mode, Run Adaware and scan, Run Spybot and scan, Run AVG and do a full system scan. Fix all problems and get rid of all the baddies.
Reboot into normal mode, Run a disk cleanup. get rid of temporary files, compressed files, and all the rest. Run a Disk Defrag and Scan Disk.
Make sure videocard and all devices have the latest drivers. Uninstall unwanted programs, run msconfig and check unwanted programs and go through the taskbar and uncheck on startup for unwanted programs.
Also i might do a check using HijackThis and see if there are any suspect entries.

Now that is what i would usually do, i've fallen out of habits and havent kept up with the computers lately, are there any new Spyware/Adaware programs to use these days, or any other programs that are sort of the bees nees and all computer guys are using them in virus and spyware removal. And what have i done wrong/could do better in my process to restore the youth into a computer and get it back to original speed. Cheers!

Re: Help for a job?

Hello

Spyware/Adaware/Virus removal has changed exponentially over the last couple of years, some application that were effective in those days might not be so effective today, it is an ever-changing world moving at a rapid pace.

There is no easy abc method to this ever changing enviroment and i would strongly suggest if you are really interested then why not apply to join our academy.
