Windows defender not working.
My computer became infected a few days ago, around the same time my windows defender had an error and nolonger works. Is this related to my infection? Or is it possible that defender went down and maybe caused my infection?

Re: Windows defender not working.
I think both are possible, but the first one is much more likely. Windows Defender shouldn't just go down for no reason, and even if it did I don't think it would have had as much impact as, say, your AV having an error. On the other hand, there are plenty of malware that like to disable your protection programs.
