Which Anti Virus programmes should I Have?
Hi.
Just built my 1st Pc. Have everything up and running and have read your security posts and Stickies. I have spybot and adaware installed. My friends tell me they have more on their PCs But here I am told not to have multiple programmes running. I am a little confused,..what exactly should I have installed. I have spybots teatimer activated and have dissabled the adaware achives scan so as not to interfer with spybot as reccomended. Thanks.. |

Re: Which Anti Virus programmes should I Have?
Spybot and Adaware are standalone utilities. Meaning that they don't run all the time like AV software. If you have multiple AV programs running like Norton and McAfee they will conflict with each other.

Re: Which Anti Virus programmes should I Have?
To add to what lorjack has wisely stated, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy are not AntiVirus applications. Since your thread title is about AntiVirus programs, you may need some clarification.
AntiSpyware/AntiMalware applications such as Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy are used in addition to, not in place of, one AntiVirus application on a machine. There's a listing of some AntiVirus applications in this sticky topic. PC Safety and Security--What Do I Need?
