Norton 360
Re: Norton 360
That all sounds great. But after programming such an advanced piece of technology that can scan your entire computer in the background, how is it so hard to add one little feature that allows people to scan a single file instead of their whole computer? I just downloaded a file and was about to open it but thought I'd scan it first. I honestly don't believe that Norton 360 would have had it scanned by the time I opened it. Does it realtime scan every new file that gets put on my computer? To any Norton 360 reps out there, I would encourage you to include this seemingly simple feature in an update. Even if it's not necessary, it would sure give your customers peace of mind, which is really what they're paying you for. Last edited by koala; 05-08-2009 at 04:51 AM. Reason: moved to new thread |

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. I would like to let you know that Norton 360 version 3 does contain the ability to manually scan an individual file or folder and contains many other new and enhanced features to keep your computer protected against threats. The main real-time scanning engine in Norton 360 is called "Auto-Protect." This feature, along with components of the Norton Firewall are able to not only detect threats as a file is being written to disk, but are also able to detect if a threat is trying to access the CPU on your computer. Norton 360 version 3 contains not only an Automatic LiveUpdate feature, which will automatically update any application patches, but a new feature called "Pulse Updates," which will check for and install definition updates, every 5-15 minutes in the background, to keep your computer protected against the latest threats that are discovered every day. Lastly, if you have a valid subscription to a previous version of Norton 360, you are entitled to a free update to Norton 360 version 3. Please NOTE, while this process will update you to the latest version of Norton 360, it will not extend your subscription. To update to Norton 360 version 3, please visit the Norton Update Center at the link below. Norton Update Center Thank you, Mike
