Re: Unistalling Spybot

Hi and welcome to TSF.

Spybot will not conflict with Norton or any other AV, It is a stand alone scanner - even Tea Timer should not affect things. What sort of conflicts do you have?

You should be able to uninstall via the Start menu - look for the Spybot folder or use Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

Re: Unistalling Spybot

If you tell us specifically what issues you are having we might be able to help you fix them, instead of uninstalling Spy bot. Spy bot is a very good utility and doesn't have very many issues. I use it myself with Symantec and have had no issues with it for years.

Re: Unistalling Spybot

It's not about having "issues" or "conflicts", it's about who gets the credit for finding the stuff (Norton, Spybot, Ad-Aware etc.).

Re: Unistalling Spybot

Actually, i was'nt sure if it conflicts with my antivirus, just want to uninstall it to get more hard drive space. Everytime i click remove on add/remove programs, an error appears that says "...unins000.dat is missing, cannot uninstall. Thanks

Re: Unistalling Spybot

is the other one a different version

go to the place where it was installed and see if it's still there.
Can you still run Spybot? Go to the folder where it was installed and see if you can determine which version it is.

Re: Unistalling Spybot

Revo uninstaller is an awesome free utility that helped me create extra space
and fixed a Silverlight issue. Why? Because it scans for leftover files and registry keys (very safely I must say) so if you cannot uninstall, it just goes to its next step.
It finds the files and you delete it. Also, it does a System Restore checkpoint before every uninstall.

Hope this helped even though alpha123 looks like he is good!!
