file removal

Bought norton 2009 and its telling to remove file NPF 7.0-9.0. It then takes me to Add/Remove Programs but the that file is not there.
Does anyone know what it is that I'm not doing right.

Did you formerly have Norman Personal Firewall or a rebranded, ISP-provided firewall which used Norman?

Have you contacted Norton support? It is after all a paid product with customer support.

Its a ISP firewall which used Norton. I did chech Norton support and it tell me the same Add/Remove program procedure.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the following logs in your thread:
  • Contents of the DDS.txt posted as text in your reply
  • Attach the Attach.txt to your post by clicking the Manage Attachments button under Additonal Options>Attach Files on the composition page. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Upload.
