need additional help
Hey I made a post a week or so ago regarding computer problems I was having. I had my world of warcraft account hacked so I assumed it was a virus.. I was right and it turns out it was a trojan.. but anyway I used both avg and malewarebytes and removed all viruses and also used ad-aware to give spyware etc the almighty boot.
Anyway, I had my account hacked again friday and I was a little baffled. First thing that comes to mind is the guy used the keylogger to get the password to email address and also for the security answer to reset my password. I have absolutely no security problems with my computer using the scanners mentioned above so i'm a little dumb founded about this. Is there any other additional steps I should take to secure my computer? Perhaps a dif virus scanner which someone could recommend? What about firewalls.. I never bothered before because they give me grief when connecting my 360 to the internet (I use ics.) Is windows firewall sufficient or is it worth checking out a purchasable one? I'm thinking zone alarm might be a good choice but open to suggestions. Any other info would be appreciated. |

Re: need additional help
Try uninstalling any av you have and downloading this http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeuse...=WWEN-AP09-DWN
From the infections i have dealt with in the last few months, (around 10 systems) this is the only one to detect and remove all of them. Actually after trying and getting 0 detections with the leading 6 avs to fix a hideously infected external drive which screwed any pc it was plugged into it turned out there was 140 infected files, which to my surprise NOD32 and antivir refused to detect! Yes a format would have been easy but you tell the person they are losing over 600 gbs of data!! lol |
