How can I change my IP address

Hi All,

I need to change my high speed connection Ip address. I get always the same Ip. I have not a static Ip with my Internet Provider, but it seems i get always same address, I tried ipconfig /release and /renew but without success. I think the modem is the problem and it gives my computer same Ip address.

Any suggestion ?

Thank for all

Jean

My System

Re: How can I change my IP address

Hi Jean, welcome to TSF

As you've already tried ipconfig/renew, try one of the methods below, depending on your setup.

From http://whatismyipaddress.com/staticp...-my-ip-address
Quote:
Computer connected directly to the modem

1. Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd).
2. Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes).
3. Shut down computer.
4. Turn off computer.
5. Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
6. Turn off cable/DSL modem.
7. Leave off overnight.
8. Turn everything back on.

Network with Router

1. Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
2. Release the IP address. (Method varies by router manufacturer)
3. Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
4. Leave off overnight.
5. Turn everything back on.
If that doesn't fix it, contact your ISP explaining why you want a new IP.

Re: How can I change my IP address

most often your ISP is dynamically assigning you an IP (DHCP) however, you are just always getting the same IP from the ISP.

If you don't want this, you could ask the ISP to change their lease times (to be shorter) allowing the chance for you to get another IP to increase. Or else, buy yourself a router and work off of internal IP's. You can set firewall rules to NOT allow any traffic in WITH AN INTERNAL IP.

Don't know if this helps.
