security settings?

i don't know what is wrong with my computer....i am able to access websites, msn, yahoo, etc. but not able to log into yahoo mail or hotmail, or access any other banking, secure sights, etc.

What browser are you using? Does it support 128-bit encryption? Most secure sites use https instead of http and require that the browser support 128-bit SSL encryption. Use the latest version of firefox or IE, they support this level of encryption.

i have ie6
when i try ie7 or 8 or even firefox, it wont connect to any webpage at all

Do you have any firewall software that is blocking access? Is there web filtering software that is blocking access to specific sites? Is this at home or are you trying to access at work through a proxy server of some type?

this is my office computer which shares a dsl connection with two other computers.
my windows firewall is on and the norton security will not open for but is listed as on as well.
i cant download updates from windows either

I would strongly suspect that it is something to do with Norton Internet security. Do the other computers in the office connect normally? I would suggest you try to bring up norton internet security and turn it off or disable it to see if that is where the problem is coming from.

when i tried to bring it up the box is blank and it acts like its stuck
i went online to website for the removal tool and it wont connect to that download either.
any idea how to remove it?

Download the removal tool on another computer and move it over to this one using a flash drive or something like that...
