Well a couple of days ago, my sister was on the interneet and said we had a virus which was false but i guess she thought we did. So i got on and i wanted to fix the problem but my norton subscription was expired. So I tried to download Norton off the internet again but it said i had to remove the version that was on my computer so thats just what I did. And after that it prompted me to restart my computer which I did and then when ii tried to get on the internet it wouldnt work.
I have a emachine computeer and it automatically comes with norton security and i have DSL. My DSL connection is just fine. Its just something on the computer thats stopping my internet from working. I dont know what it is. I dont know what to do. I already tried calling at&t and they said my internet was fine and i tried putting my ip address in the browseer and it just wont work. Beforee, by typing in my ip address and fixing the problem, my internet would work again but i cant even do that anymore. I dont know if uninstallling norton changed the setting on my computer or what. Please help.

Hi rayray, welcome to TSP, please follow the instructions on this page to fully remove your norton product, it may be causing the internet issue or it may be spyware or some sort

The key here is...do you plan on reinstalling Norton? If not, you don't need to know what key it has. Quote:
Download the NRT, and run it. Though I'm not sure why that would have caused problems for your internet.
