Howdy there
I do not see any reason why they should conflict with each other. You can also run SuperAntiSpyware alongside Spybot without any problems.

Re: will these conflict with each other
Hi and thank you for the response,
ok i did a complete u turn on what i posted earlier and changed a few things. Firewall: Comodo firewall (free version) Changed to windows firewall I found comodo hard to operate, lots of are you sure you want to allow this to run (i was beforehand but when asked again i panicked). plus it slowed my internet connection down something fierce. going fine again now. Anti virus: Avg 8 (Free Version) Changed to Avira Anti personnel. ( free ) Seen on this site a report of all anti virus programs out there and this seem the best of the lot ( if that is possible ) Spyware: Anti spyware (free) Changed to spybot search and destroy. I went with this one because a lot of people seem to use this on here but again it asks a lot of question that i am unsure of the answers. i used to use lavasoft adaware and found that way easier to operate but it seems to be a no no to use on here so i got rid of. I suppose i am looking for an easy to use firewall and adaware/spyware program that all i have to do is run a scan and it tell me that this is bad or good with little questions as i do not have a clue to say yes or no. Is that even possible ![]() I have vented my frustion now and feel a lot better now, look forward to your response. |

Re: will these conflict with each other
Which version of windows are you running? If you are using windows XP then I would recommend a third party firewall for the fact that the XP firewall only monitors traffic in one direction and will not monitor outbound traffic. Zonealarm Free is another free firewall which you can try out. As for processes asking for access, if you are unsure then ask! if it is something that you know is safe such as spybot then it is safe to let it do so.
Regarding anti-malware scanners - Malwarebytes Antimalware is a great program that will run alongaside Spybot and has a good detection rate, you may wish to try it in conjunction with what you already have and see what you think.

Re: will these conflict with each other
Vista firewall monitors traffic in both directions unlike the older XP firewall. Are you behind a router at all? If so, the the router will also act as a hardware firewall giving you added protection.
