AVG will not let me renew my 7.5

I was pleased with AVG free so a yera or so ago I thought I would buy the paid for version. Nearly a week ago I received a message from AVG saying that my subscription was going to run out and I attempted to renew it.
All went well until a stupid box came up saying it was a Barclays Visa Protection service which is probably valid but I refuse to be told what to subscribe to so I declined to fill the details in.
My application to renew AVG cut out. I have attempted to contact AVG three times with no response which seems a pretty contemptuous sort of service so what next? Should I go elsewhere and if so where?
I am quite happy to pay.

If you use Barclays Visa Protection, it will let you complete your renewal. It's a service used by AVG and many other companies to protect your credit card transactions online.

I recognise that if I use Barclays Visa Protection, it will let me complete your renewal and that it's a service used by AVG and many other companies to protect credit card transactions online.

However, I resent the fact that they were so arrogant as to not offer me the opportunity to make the decision myself as to whether or not to use the Visa protection.

If you want to switch from AVG, try Avast, Avira or NOD32. All of these have better detection rates than AVG.
