Re: can any give me advice to help my friend?
Hey Zealex,
If avast can't remove the viruses... it's best to drop the computer at a local computer repair shop and have them remove it. However if you want to try removing it yourself, here's a guide below for a simple and easy way of removing viruses: What you can try doing is running virus scans in safe mode. This is done by powering the computer on and immediately hitting F8 until you get Windows Advance Options. Choose safe mode with networking. Once you're in safemode try running a virus scan with avast. After that download, install and run scans Malwarebytes: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...html?tag=mncol Lastly download, install and run scans for spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Searc...html?tag=mncol Once you're done using those programs and confirmed they've removed the viruse's, etc... uninstall them right away as it's not good having multiple anti-virus software's installed. If the guide above hasn't removed all the virus's, again it's best to drop it off at a computer repair shop.

Re: can any give me advice to help my friend?
Avast has both AV and anti - spyware. So it's not good to have an additional anti-spyware program like spybot running since they would conflict in using the same processes to services.

Re: can any give me advice to help my friend?
To the best of my knowledge, there should be no conflict between Spybot Search & Destroy and Avast, if Spybot is used for an on demand scanner, and TeaTimer is not used.
I run the two together successfully, with no issues of conflict, on a couple machines.

with 8 trojans and who knows how many othe hidden spy/malware have you concidered just backing up her important data and re-formating?
at least if you reformat you can start a fresh and install all relevent software before reconceting to the internet. |
